New Bar coming soon! The Angela Street side of Cowboy Bill's has been many bars over the last few years none of them seem to last very long. The last was "Levity" which opened and closed very quickly. Seems this location has always been problematic. It is easily passed by because typically tourists stay on Duval Street often missing many of the great restaurants and bars Key West has to offer. This is why we started the Kokomo Joe's Off Duval Bar Crawl. We show you some bars just off the beaten path that you might otherwise walk right past. Bar closing, new bar opening

Well, sadly it appears that "Levity" did not make a go of it. (The old Salsa Loca location on the side of Cowboy Bill's) Looks like Cowboy Bill's has done some renovations on the front bar making it a cozy place to watch Football. I heard rumor that the "Levity" will soon be replaced and may be called "Salty Dog" sounds interesting. I will keep you posted on the progress.

Delicious breakfast

When you are in Key West partying is the most fun thing to do but what about a good breakfast? Where can you find it at a reasonable price? Well Party Animals it is a little hard to find on the island. There are only a couple places I would recommend. I recently discovered a new one that automatically became one of my top favorites. I almost hate to share it because I love that I could walk right in with no wait but I want them to do well so I'm going to let the secret out.

Kermit's Key Lime Pie shoppe they have a little counter service only café out back. I just tried the breakfast and it was delicious, throw in exceptional service (way beyond counter service) and it made for an awesome experience. I will be eating there often, you should check it out.

It's that time of year again! The 2013 Super Boat World Championships are about to begin. This year it looks like mother nature might cause some problems with high winds this week. Every year on Friday night the boats are lined up for display down Duval Street and we have a pub crawl scheduled so we cruise through to take a look and get some pics. It's always a good time. Next Party? Parrot Heads MOTM

Tonight Sunday at 8p.m. the Fat Lady Sings at La te da and Fantasy Fest 2013 is officially over. Next Party? Parrot Heads MOTM. What is that you ask? Well it's basically a bunch of crazy people dressed in grass skirts, fruit, balloons, parrots and anything else tropical they can find partying for a charitable cause. They are the fans of Jimmy Buffet and their chapters (known as phlocks) come from all over the country for this event called "Meeting of the Minds". There is a lot of drinking and listening to live Trop Rock music. The event is for members only that register but they have a street concert that is open to the public and 2 years ago Jimmy showed up and played a free concert. The Parrot Heads are a bunch of fun loving people who's motto is "Party with a purpose" they do a lot of giving to charities in their local phlock's neighborhood. I myself am a member of the Key West phlock, you should check out the one nearest you and join.

Party Animals join us Oct. 23rd during FantasyFest 2013 in #keywest for a costume pub crawl to benefit KOA Care Camps for children with cancer we will be donating through the Southernmost Coconut Castaways (Friend club to Howard Livingston and the Mile Marker 24 Band  ).  Don't miss this event, not only will you get to dress up, party and have fun but the money spent doing it will go to help send children with cancer to KOA Care Camps.

New Bar "Levity Lounge" Key West

Last night we hit the streets on the #kokomojoesbarcrawl it was a small but thirsty band of Party Animals who attempted to drink #KeyWest dry, it was a noble attempt!  We kicked it off at "90 mile Lounge" with some great Blues music and cigars. Rum Barrel served up more great live music fun! Then off to Smokin Tuna for more great music! Next a little change up with some club style atmosphere at Rumor Lounge then the big finish at Tattoos & Scars! The night was perfect and no one wanted to end so after the crawl we checked out the brand spanking new "Levity Lounge".

Tammy served up some beer with personality and style, we chatted with one of the owners and had a great time! This is going to be a locals favorite hangout with some tourists mixed in. They are still working on things, a lot of hard work by the owners (only been open 2 days) but it is going to be a big hit with it's Key West and Caribbean attitude. If you don't know where it is the bar is located on Angela Street a half block off Duval. It is where the old Salsa Loca was and is part of the Cowboy Bill's complex off to the side. Go check them out and tell them Kokomo Joe sent you!

Key West Bar news update on Cowboy Bill's

Well here is a Key West Bar news update. Currently at the old Cowboy Bill's Complex, the front part is now open as "Rose Tattoo" no they don't do tattoo's. "Rose Tattoo" has the following special events nightly. Sunday is Brunch Buffet, Monday Karaoke, Tuesday Beer Pong, Wednesday Texas hold-em poker, Thursday is military and "in the biz" night, Friday is dance night, Saturday is Latin or live music.

  The back bar that was "Church bar" is now a sports bar, the old Cowboy Bill's bull and live band/dancing room is the same and opens at 6 p.m. The old "Salsa Loca"/"Awful Arthurs" is opening soon as "Levity Backyard" with a Caribbean menu. Key West Bar news update

Well, Cowboy Bill's closed, re-opened, closed again, and re-opened again. Not sure what is going on with that place but will check it out again and let you know. The bar on the Angela Street side is being re-done and will open soon I'm told with a delicious Caribbean menu and full bar, the name will be Levity Backyard (I think). The owner is the guy who started the successful Krawl Off Duval craft beer bar so stay tuned. This is all the bar news I have at the moment. I will post any news I hear right here soon.

New Key West Bar Rumor 618 Duval

Rumor has it that Cowboy Bill's has been sold and the new name of the bar is "618 Duval" which is of course the address. I know that they have the "Church Bar" in the back which is air conditioned and has skeet ball tournaments. There is a new bull to ride in the bull riding room. Bands have been playing in the same place as before, dance floor is still open and active. They have had some Latin nights in the front bar, and there have been rumors that they will begin to serve New Orleans style food to include an oyster bar up front. The staff all seems friendly and eager to serve. Hmm it all sounds very interesting. What other surprises may come? Stay tuned, we will tell you more as we find out ourselves.
